    Job Summary

    The Human Resources Partner provides consulting and day to-day operations support to University leadership in the areas of employee relations, policy/procedure administration, and talent management. Additionally, the partner helps to implement and communicate human resources strategies and programs. This position requires an individual who is skilled in human resources practices, relationship management and demonstrates effective communications with individuals at all levels within the supported lines of business.

     

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

     

    + Serves as a dedicated, proactive resource for leaders of the University. Responds to questions and requests for information in a timely fashion. Advises on policies and procedures and makes recommendations for decision making.

    + Implements and provides training on tools and resources for hiring, employee relations, classification/compensation, and performance management. Conducts needs assessments for HR initiatives and programs. Assists in the development and facilitation of training programs.

    + Assists in resolving problems or concerns of general grievance and other human resources issues. Participates in investigations, helps to resolve workplace problems and ensures adherence to the university grievance process.

    + Participates in the development and implementation of new HR programs, policies and processes.

    + Partners with leaders to uphold all compliance standards and create an environment of compliance/excellence and performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or a related field and three (3) years human resources experience consulting with leaders on employee relations issues (such as recruiting, discipline, performance management, policies and procedures).

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

     

    + Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

    + A strong customer service orientation and ability to build strong working relationships with a wide variety of individuals.

    + Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

    + Ability to be a supportive and participative team member with a high level of personal initiative and responsibility

    + Experience with HR systems; proficiency with Microsoft computer applications

    + Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in matters of sensitive or confidential nature.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Professional HR certification preferred.
