SUMMARY:

Provides nutritional care of at risk patients/residents and acts as a consultant to other health care professionals in determining the best nutritional care options for their patients/residents. This position will cover in the NICU and pediatrics along with adult acute care coverage.

The RGH NICU is a 15-bed, level II unit. The pediatric unit is a 12-bed, general pediatric unit and can have a mix of adult patients. The adult unit for this position will cover a 24-bed gen/med surge unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Assessment: Complete nutritional assessments for all patients; provide input into Nutritional Support Service rounds for assigned patients; monitor and document patient progress.

+ Nutritional Therapy Planning: Provide recommendations for formulations, rate and volume for all tube fed and TPN patients. Instruct patients and families on special diets and general good nutrition.

+ Patient Care: Develop plan of care per clinical data, interview, diagnosis and treatment goals; provide oversight to dietetic technicians providing patient care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ 1 year of clinical nutrition experience as a Registered Dietitian.

+ Bachelor’s Degree from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) accredited program.

+ Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ A minimum of two (2) years of acute clinical experience.

+ Demonstrated understanding of regulatory requirements for nutrition care.

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

+ Strong analytical thinking and computer skills.

RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist - Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
