    Job Title: Certified Recreation TherapistDepartment: Golisano Rehab Admin Location: Golisano Rehabilitation Unity HospitalHours Per Week: 20 hoursSchedule: Monday - Friday, flexible shifts

    SUMMARY

    Provides comprehensive therapeutic recreation services to patients of UHS brain injury unit. The work involves evaluation of patients through interaction, behavioral observations, standardized tests, and analysis of medical records, design and implementation of individualized treatment plans.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Completes patient assessment, develops and implements individualized treatment plan, sets appropriate goals in conjunction with D/C plan.

    + Documents results of evaluation, treatment, D/C needs and education in accordance with department policy. Participates in family conferences, team meetings and departmental meetings, utilizes appropriate communication skills.

    + Maintains professional growth through active participation in continuing education programs, professional meetings, attending inservices and revire of professional literature.

    + Instructs, utilizes and supervises support staff appropriately and efficiently. Provides education to staff to facilitate continuity of care.

    + Coordinates patient schedule with other team members per department policy and efficiently adapts to meet patient/department needs. Maintains accountability and assures appropriate use of equipment. Documents patient charges, attendance and statistics as per department policy.

    + Assists in QI, policy procedure development and new staff orientation.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + BS or MS in therapeutic recreation required

    + Two to three years working with brain injury and pediatrics populations.

    + Certification or Licensure in area of expertise.

    S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    $62,000.00 - $90,000.00

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
