In Accounting & External Reporting (“AER”) we are a team of experts dedicated to ensuring absolute integrity and accuracy of our financial data and reporting, delivering results with speed and data that enables insights for Enterprise Value Creation.
The Senior Analyst, Accounting & External Reporting, NA will support the North America Region accounting processes for areas including leases, fixed assets, manufacturing, and marketing/advertising, as well as supporting ad-hoc projects. You will also coordinate with our shared services partners. The ideal candidate has a strong finance/accounting background, an analytical mindset, is detail-oriented, can perform technical accounting research, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills. The role includes identifying opportunities for process improvements in the assigned areas as well as ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual activities are completed accurately and timely.
A strong background in and affinity to financial systems is required. Experience in SAP, HFM, and Blackline, preferred.

+ Support accounting and external reporting activities for the North America region, including accounting related to leases, fixed assets, manufacturing, and marketing/advertising.

+ TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting including an understanding of U.S. GAAP, close processes, and financial reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities
+ Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual activities are completed accurately and timely.
+ Support the month-end closing process, including the analysis and resolution of issues as they arise.
+ Establish cross-functional relationships, address inquiries from other departments, and act as a trusted business partner.
+ Support the North America Region with interpreting and applying the accounting standard requirements related to leasing, as well as supporting associated controls and processes.
+ Support validation of the completeness and accuracy of the lease population in North America.
+ Liaison with and provide support to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other functions to complete lease-related requests/requirements.
+ Support manufacturing and marketing/advertising accounting and review for compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
+ Support fixed asset accounting, including project creation, capitalization, and review for compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
+ Review balance sheet account reconciliations and account balance trends for potential risks; research variances and perform root cause analyses.
+ Research and apply technical accounting guidance; understand and apply Mondelez finance policies.
+ Identify and lead projects to drive accounting process improvements and enhance process documentation.
+ Support Internal/External Audit and Internal controls team with ad-hoc accounting information and SOX controls documentation.
+ Support other ad hoc tasks/projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree of Science or Business Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA (desired)
+ 3 or more years of accounting / finance experience with significant experience in accounting. Big Four accounting firm experience preferred
+ A strong understanding of financial systems is required with experience in SAP and HFM, a plus
+ Experience with lease accounting (ASC842)
+ Strong experience in account analysis and reconciliations with a background in Blackline a plus
+ Strong team player who manages collaboratively with all stakeholders
+ Demonstrated experience in process improvement and documentation
+ Strong influencing and communication skills, and ability to lead informal teams
+ Strong Excel skills, and ability to handle/analyze large amounts of complex data
+ Technical skills, problem solving, and a challenging/assertive approach
+ Ability to work with details and to understand business implications
+ Internal / External Audit experience is preferred
The base salary range for this position is $83,800 to $115,225; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
