    The Assistant Director of Career Services for the Massry School of Business will provide career advisement to current undergraduate and graduate level business students in the School, lead workshops, programs and orientations on career related topics, develop and manage career resource platforms, develop and manage employer relationships to continue to build job and internship opportunities.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Provide counseling and advising students regarding their career development.

    + Conduct career-related workshops and programs for students.

    + Provide advisement and counseling on major/concentration selection, career choice, career planning, internship search, job search, and career assessments.

    + Career advisement: Provide undergraduate and graduate level business students with career coaching, resume and interview prep, self-assessment and professional business etiquette skills and job and internship search skills and techniques. Connect students with alumni, employers and corporate partners to help with career choice and networking. Develop and conduct career specific workshops on resume writing, dining etiquette, interview skills, LinkedIn, job and internship search.

    + Assist in the development and management of employer relations:

    + Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective employers for the purpose of providing job and internships opportunities for students.

    + Collaborate with faculty, deans and development and alumni relations to expand and diversify recruiting programs. Oversee on campus recruiting programs, information sessions and posting of opportunities.

    + Maintain employer database and assist with career placement data collection.

    + Assist with planning and implementing of Network NYC recruiting event, Meet the Firms Night.

    + Assist in development and management of the Co-op program.

    + Develop and market career resources for students:

    + Manage and oversee resume critique, interview prep and career assessment systems and work with students to utilize the systems.

    + Lead and manage direct reports/team providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to assure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to the University's mission. Lead employees for maximum performance and dedication, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Complete performance management feedback and goals timely and per requirements, offering constructive feedback and developing improvement plans.

    Functional and Supervisory Relationships:

    + Reports to Director of Career Services, Massry School of Business

    + Supervises the following positions: (2) Career Counselors and Graduate Assistant

    + May supervise employees as assigned (if no direct reports at the time of filling position)

    Job Requirements:

    Job Requirements:

    + Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, experience in higher education, academic advising, recruiting or human resources. Ability to work closely with students, employers, and alumni, strong communications skills, knowledge or business careers and ability to present in front of groups.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization

    + 2-4 years of relevant experience in career services or related field

    + Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, experience and proficiency in making oral and written presentations, excellent interpersonal and project management skills

    + Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems

    + Knowledge of career management and general knowledge of the types of industries and jobs pursued by business and accounting students

    + Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community

    + Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master's degree in career services, Higher Ed, Human Resources, academic advising, Business Administration or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization

    + 3-5 years of experience in higher education, recruiting or human resources

    + Ability to work with alumni and friends of the school, implement programming and initiatives with specific goals and objectives

    + Knowledge of the career management and job search process, as well as the types of jobs and internships generally pursued by business and accounting students

    + Ability to help and interact effectively with graduate level and undergraduate level business and accounting students regarding career options and networking

    Work Environment:

    + Typical office environment

    + May need to lift 10-20 pounds

    + Represent the University, Massry School of Business and Career services office at on and off campus meetings and events.

    + Travel-5-10% and may require some evenings and weekends.

    This is a promotional opportunity for current UAlbany employees.

    Eligibility for Consideration:

    + You must be employed at the University at Albany campus.

    + You must be in a State-funded UUP professional position (MC employees are not eligible).

    + You must have a permanent, term, or probationary appointment. Only temporary employees employed by UAlbany for three or more consecutive years can be considered eligible.

    Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Senior Staff Assistant, SL-3, $60,000 - $63,000
