Job Title: Controls Engineer

25-40% Travel Requirement within the United States

Job Description

This individual will challenge current processes, equipment procedures, and electrical/controls specifications in our delivery stations to come up with creative and implementable process improvement initiatives. This Controls Engineer will also design and develop new and existing delivery station electrical and controls layouts. This position will be responsible for designing, managing, and executing the next generation of delivery station processes, equipment, and operations. This is a unique opportunity to own new innovative projects that will advance the intelligence of our last mile business.

Responsibilities

+ Own the design and development of industrial controls design for complex material handling systems, considering human/equipment interactions.

+ Act as the interface between the MHE vendors and internal engineering design teams during the electrical and controls design of the complex material handling systems to ensure vendor compliance with controls specifications, NEC, NFPA 70, and other applicable codes.

+ Simultaneously manage multiple high-visibility projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.

+ Conduct post mortem on designs after implementation in partnership with Safety, Maintenance, and Operations.

+ Review new advanced technology being introduced into the MHE systems with a focus on the electrical and controls interfacing requirements.

Essential Skills

+ PLC programming - Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, CodeSys

+ Control System Design

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related Engineering fields

+ 5 years of experience in Electrical/Control systems in a PLC based controls design, development, and implementation in a fast-paced industrial logistics, production, or manufacturing environment

+ 5 years of experience directly managing and being responsible for multiple large projects

The pay range for this position is $59.00 - $65.00/hr.
