    Job Description

    The Associate Director for Risk Management and Patient Safety is responsible for overseeing staff, operations and resources to ensure optimal result and high employee engagement. Aligns with the strategic vision, goals and objectives of the health system by promoting a culture of safety and elimination of harm through patient safety initiatives including but not limited to the patient safety rounding program (Patient Safety Wednesday) and Great Catch recognition programs. Advances the expansion and integration of these programs across the Mount Sinai Health System.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in a clinical area, public health/administration or business or a related field or equivalent education and experience; Masters (MPA, MPH, MBA or related) is preferred.

    + 7+ years of experience (higher preferred) in a professional business environment, with health related, project management and supervisory experience preferred.Demonstrated track record of successful implementation of institutional wide programs.

    + NYS RN, NP or P.A. or allied health professional licensure requiredCPPS/ CPSO preferred

    Responsibilities

    1. Oversees operations within assigned program; uses data and fact-based problem solving techniques to improve processes and outcomes.

    2. Plans, develops, and/or maintains program standard operating procedures. Regularly reviews policies and procedures and makes changes, or recommends changes to superiors as necessary.

    3. Expands and integrates new hospital programs; collaborates and works with the leadership to develop hospital programs in alignment with needs and strategic plan.

    4. Contributes to program development by working as key member of team to build an infrastructure, identify resources, set up and operationalize the program.

    5. Provides analytic and logistics support, as necessary, to further the goals of business development.

    6. Ensures access to program and ease of navigation through the health system.

    7. Identifies multiple marketing and access points to generate interest and participation in the program.

    8. Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and marketing of programs to leadership, management and frontline staff.

    9. Collaborates with appropriate individuals to develop connections to various available organization physicians, facilities, resources, support programs and services to foster a multi-disciplinary approach to patient safety.

    10. Participates in coordinating sessions for each organization; identifies gaps and works to address issues; promotes patient-centered quality care and supports service line focus and development.

    11. Utilizes tools to measure rounder and staff satisfaction; identifies opportunities and addresses barriers; brings issues to appropriate leadership.

    12. Uses knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of functional objectives and principles to achieve goals in innovative ways.

    13. Assists in the planning and logistical arrangements for forums, conferences, seminars, and meetings.

    14. Assist in the development and coordination of supplies/materials for participants. Tracks supplies/materials/orders to process requisitions as needed.

    15. Assists with timely and accurate processing of related purchase orders, estimates, invoices, credits, payments, and reimbursements.

    16. Collaborates with appropriate individuals to develop connections to various available organization physicians, facilities, resources, support programs and services to foster a multi-disciplinary approach to patient safety.

    Compensation Statement

    Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $116000 - $175000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
