    Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

     

    As a Controls Engineer, you will work closely with the maintenance team to support production equipment. You will be responsible for managing all electrical systems, including those up to 480V, motor controls with contactors and VFDs, and hardwired safety circuits. Your role will involve PLC troubleshooting across multiple platforms, HMI troubleshooting, and assisting in the design and programming of HMIs. You will also work with distributed I/O systems, industrial vision system integration, and programming, as well as the integration of Motoman robots.

    Responsibilities

    + Support production equipment by managing all electrical systems, including systems up to 480V.

    + Handle motor controls including contactors and VFDs.

    + Maintain hardwired safety circuits such as light curtains, safety laser scanners, gate switches, and safety relays.

    + Conduct PLC troubleshooting with AB PLC5, SLC500, and Control Logix platforms.

    + Troubleshoot HMI systems using AB Panelview Plus and CTC PowerStation.

    + Assist with the design and programming of HMIs based on application requirements.

    + Work with various distributed I/O systems.

    + Integrate and program industrial vision systems such as Cognex.

    + Integrate Motoman robots including MRC, XRC, NX, and DX series.

    Essential Skills

    + PLC programming or in-depth troubleshooting experience.

    + Robotic automation experience.

    + Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.

    + Electrical engineering experience of 1+ years.

    + Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an Associate's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

    + Automotive industry experience is nice to have.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

    + Ability to work well in a team environment.

    Work Environment

    This role is based on the manufacturing floor, offering openings on the 2nd shift starting at 2:15pm and the 3rd shift starting at 11:15pm. You will be exposed to an environment that provides the opportunity to gain world-class automotive industry experience.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $78000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
