Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description
As a Mechanical Designer, you will support the process of delivering essential, cost-effective product design under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Manufacturing. You will be responsible for the design and documentation of products during the design and development phases, ensuring strict adherence to development processes. Additionally, you will drive cross-functional involvement and partner in supplier development processes.
Responsibilities
+ Design and document products during design and development phases.
+ Own design and development activities.
+ Drive cross-functional involvement in strict adherence to the development process.
+ Partner in the identification and development of new suppliers.
+ Support procurement in managing the existing supply base.
+ Understand current automotive accessory trends.
+ Produce engineering designs and drawings in accordance with applicable standards.
+ Maintain proficiency with drawing standards, tolerancing, and configuration control methods.
+ Ensure adherence to accessory product expectations.
+ Facilitate accessory supplier readiness for manufacturing and installation processes.
+ Participate in model year carry-over validation activities.
+ Support accessory product quality problem-solving efforts.
+ Participate in Field Quality Plan development for newly launched accessories.
+ Review warranty and other indicators of field performance and customer satisfaction.
+ Contribute to the continual improvement of accessory development and launch processes.
+ Determine the direction of the accessory portfolio and optimize product categories.
+ Handle consumer and customer data responsibly per applicable policies.
+ Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
+ Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Design and Mechanical Engineering expertise.
+ Experience in Research & Development and Full Life Cycle Product Development.
+ 3+ years of experience in automotive or aerospace product design development.
+ Experience in new product development.
+ Experience as a Mechanical Engineer in Product Design.
+ Proficiency in CREO, Creo Parametric, Windchill, APQP, and PPAP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Reliable and consistent on-site attendance.
+ Proficiency with drawing standards and document control methods.
+ Understanding of accessory product expectations and vehicle applicability.
+ Ability to facilitate accessory supplier readiness and manufacturing processes.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position where you will work at your desk and occasionally visit the shop floor. You will be involved in sample production, fit checks on vehicles, and other hands-on activities. Work hours are flexible, with core hours from 9am to 4pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $42.00/hr.
