Job Title: FPGA Design EngineerJob Description
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in DO-254 for a top Aerospace client. The ideal candidate will have navigated the DO-254 process at least once in their career, meeting with entities such as the FAA and Transportation Authority. The role involves exploring high-level concepts of the DO-254 Design Assurance Guidance, focusing on safety-related concepts, requirements traceability, design assurance levels, and overall DO-254-compliant flow.
Responsibilities
+ Develop firmware using VHDL.
+ Engage with the DO-254 Certification Process.
+ Create verification test-benches to simulate firmware code using tools such as Siemens Modelsim/Questa, Synopsys VCS, or equivalent.
+ Utilize FPGA design skills with software tools like Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero, Intel Quartus, and Synplify.
+ Perform FPGA timing closure, power estimation, and pin assignments.
+ Debug hardware and firmware issues using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
+ Work independently on firmware development tasks.
+ Follow established firmware development best practices.
+ Develop firmware in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
+ Document moderately complex engineering designs.
+ Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
+ Organize work efficiently and manage multiple tasks.
+ Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Essential Skills
+ Firmware development experience using VHDL.
+ Experience with DO-254 Certification Process.
+ Ability to create verification test-benches using simulation tools.
+ FPGA design skills with various synthesis tools.
+ Capability to perform FPGA timing closure and power estimation.
+ Hardware and firmware debugging skills.
+ Independent working capability on development tasks.
+ Adherence to best practices in firmware development.
+ Proficiency in both Windows and Linux OS environments.
+ Experience in documenting engineering designs.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Organizational skills.
+ Ability to work in a team and multitask.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Design and electrical hardware design experience.
+ Aerospace engineering background .
+ Experience in aerospace defense.
+ Knowledge of Siemens NX.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
