We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Land Agent to join our expanding team focused on facilitating real estate transactions and conducting permitting activities for energy generation assets. This role involves site identification, mapping, permitting due diligence, and negotiating land agreements while providing guidance and communication to property owners, clients, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
+ Identify property owners and create tailored proposals after conducting due diligence.
+ Establish and maintain strong relationships with property owners and clients to ensure exceptional customer service throughout the transaction process.
+ Facilitate negotiations between property owners and clients to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
+ Prepare and present offers and counteroffers for purchase, lease, and easement agreements.
+ Establish and maintain strong connections and communications with developers, clients, and local authorities.
+ Identify site constraints, both physical and permitting-related.
Essential Skills
+ Permitting and real estate expertise.
+ GIS/Mapping proficiency.
+ Environmental permitting knowledge.
+ Experience as a Land Agent, Project Developer, or GIS field technician.
+ Ability to read engineering plans.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Prior experience with zoning, permitting, real estate, or related fields such as pulling titles and creating easements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree is highly preferred in GIS/Geography, Business, Civil Engineering, or Real Estate.
+ Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel.
+ Ability to work and travel independently.
Work Environment
The Land Agent team is comprised of three individuals, including a director and two additional engineers, focused on growing in the energy and land agent space. This travel-based position typically requires one to two nights away each week, offering flexibility in scheduling onsite meetings. When not traveling, you will work in the Elmhurst office with your own desk/cubicle. Initial training involves traveling to client sites with a director for the first month. The role promises long-term opportunities, including potential career growth in GIS work and team building. Travel expenses are typically covered upfront, with a per diem at the GSA rate for the territory.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
