    Job Description

    Provide technical expertise and leadership within the supply base to execute a robust quality plan. Implement continuous quality improvement processes and strict process controls to evaluate and develop suppliers worldwide, maximizing Quality Cost Logistics Delivery and Management (QCLDM). Ensure suppliers meet corporate and business unit requirements for SQEP certification levels and customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery of purchased materials.

    Responsibilities

    + Serve as a trusted advisor for the supply base, assessing potential suppliers via on-site QCLDM audits.

    + Drive implementation of Lean BIQ and APQP, continuously reviewing supplier capacity and assuring production readiness through supplier PPAP submissions.

    + Collaborate with suppliers to assure proper process control standards are in place and monitor key manufacturing processes for improvement.

    + Provide technical support during start-up activities and ongoing strategic support.

    + Monitor suppliers' adherence to Process Change Notification (PCN) on a timely and cost-effective basis.

    + Develop the supply base to fulfill total requirements from the CPS implementation.

    + Provide technical leadership as a QCLDM champion and assure technical development to meet supply network strategies.

    + Support category strategies, supplier development, performance management, and new supplier selection.

    + Evaluate and develop new suppliers' technological capabilities to meet requirements.

    + Ensure APQP activities related to process control are performed by suppliers.

    + Manage suppliers' project plans and activities to ensure products meet expectations.

    + Review APQP documentation, including Process FMEA and Process Control Plans.

    + Participate in process FMEA for suppliers' manufacturing processes.

    + Audit process control implementation and effectiveness, validate process capability, and ensure PPAP completion and approval before new parts delivery.

    + Review, approve, and validate 8D permanent corrective action plans.

    + Perform quality management system audits and Supplier Evaluation Surveys (SES), including potential new suppliers assessments.

    + Support SPQ projects and participate in the development of supplier quality metrics.

    + Participate in Supplier Performance Management Reviews (SPM).

    + Support MQ11005 certification and 6 Sigma initiatives with suppliers.

    + Work with suppliers to reduce waste and improve process capability and efficiency.

    + Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of technological developments for guidance in design, quality, and manufacturing.

    + Provide resolution and ensure implementation of robust solutions for quality problems with purchased materials, logistics, and engineering issues.

    + Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within the diverse global organization.

    + Collaborate with buyers to improve supplier cost, quality, and throughput.

    + Coordinate with engineering personnel on matters regarding CPPD, NPI, CPI teams, design to production engineering changes, supplier designs, specification approvals, and cost reduction goals.

    + Participate in the FMEA process with suppliers' manufacturing processes.

    Essential Skills

    + Thorough working knowledge of quality initiatives and PPAP completion.

    + Leadership in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.

    + Proficiency in statistical and problem-solving tools.

    + 3-5 years of job-related experience.

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in engineering.

    + Familiarity with manufacturing processes used to produce components and assemblies.

    + Knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures.

    + Good human relations and communication skills.

    + Potential for leadership to develop cooperative working relationships.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Quality Engineering certification is highly desirable.

    + American Supply Quality (ASQ) certification is desired.

    + Knowledge of 6 Sigma methodology, preferably Green Belt training.

    + Experience with supplier quality, quality engineering, and root cause analysis.

    Work Environment

    The position involves managing the completion of work assignments and coordinating work with others. It supports and participates in 6 Sigma initiatives with facilities, category teams, and suppliers. The role requires maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards within a diverse global organization and involves collaboration with engineering personnel and buyers to improve supplier processes and efficiency.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
