Join our Protection & Controls Applications team as an I&C Engineer, where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable interconnection of customer-owned facilities to our transmission system.

     

    This is your opportunity to work on high-impact projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and apply your expertise in protection systems, automation, and electrical design.

     

    • What You’ll Do

    + Conduct short-circuit and breaker-duty studies to determine protection requirements for interconnecting customer facilities.

    + Build and maintain short-circuit models using customer data and CAPE software.

    + Specify protection schemes and relay settings for company-owned substations and interconnection points.

    + Ensure compliance with transmission stability requirements and industry standards.

    + Communicate technical findings and protection requirements to both internal stakeholders and external customers.

    + Participate in cross-functional meetings, offering technical guidance and support to peers and partners.

    •️ What You Bring

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

    + Solid understanding of instrumentation, protective relays, PLC programming, and control systems.

    + Experience or coursework in relay settings, power studies, or interconnection analysis.

    + Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

    + A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    • Preferred Qualifications

    + Hands-on experience with CAPE or similar protection engineering tools.

    + Exposure to utility or transmission system operations.

    + Familiarity with automation systems and instrumentation engineering.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
