Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
+ 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
+ Experience with flash storage, systems software, kernel drivers and hardware server platforms.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
+ 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
+ Experience working with vendors and standards bodies.
+ Experience with ASIC development and life-cycle.
+ Familiarity with SSDs, embedded software, storage subsystems, and storage protocols such as NVMe, Fibre Channel, SCSI.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
Platforms Storage is responsible for building storage solutions for all of Google's services (e.g., AI/ML Systems, Cloud, Search, Photos, Youtube etc.). The team designs and develops the platform's software and solutions for NAND flash, Solid-State Drive (SSDs), storage appliances, and next-generation disruptive storage technologies. We develop firmware, kernel drivers, system software, tools and security solutions optimized for Google’s services. We develop qualification frameworks, solutions and processes working jointly with our vendors. We are responsible for maintaining and ensuring supply for all the flash in Google’s fleet.The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. Our end users are Googlers, Cloud customers and the billions of people who use Google services around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Collaborate with internal customers such as Cloud, Search, File/Object storage teams etc.) and external SSD vendors to enable timely onboarding of new storage systems and a flexible portfolio strategy.
+ Lead evaluation and development of new flash storage technologies, standards, drivers, health monitors, and storage management solutions.
+ Lead and coach a team of SSD storage software engineers and managers to create and deliver innovative flash storage solutions that meet customers requirements for all of Google.
+ Drive all aspects of the development including requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration to ensure high quality deliverables.
