This Professional Counselor 4 (full time) position is for a vacancy located in our Residential Inpatient Facility inMandeville, Louisiana. Please see the Examples of Work below for additional information for this position.
This position may be filled as a Probational Appointment . Applicants may be asked to serve a probationary period that may be anywhere from 6 months to 24 months.
Salary may be negotiable depending on the chosen applicant's level of experience. The minimum and maximum pay level for the position is listed below:
+ Professional Counselor 4: $24.35/hour Special Entrance Rate - $40.53/hour maximum

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) plus two years of counseling experience.
Job Specification
FUNCTION OF WORK:
To provide intensive developmental and therapeutic assessment and treatment in serious or complicated cases that require a range of therapeutic and intervention skills.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Advanced
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Broad from a licensed behavioral health professional or higher-level manager or administrator.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May provide functional supervision to lower-level counselors and other direct care providers.
LOCATION OF WORK:
May be used by all state agencies.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from the Professional Counselor 3 and the Social Service Counselor job series by the presence of licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Differs from the Professional Counselor 5 and other supervisory counselor jobs by the absence of supervisory responsibilities.
Job Duties and Other Information
This clinician position provides clinical assessment and treatment of clients admitted to the inpatient residential substance use treatment facility. The clinician may evaluate and determines appropriateness of referrals/admissions when a bed becomes available. The clinician completes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, screenings, treatment/counseling via individual/family/group therapies, as well as discharge plans for patients and families as needed. The clinician also works on an interdisciplinary treatment team in order to provide thorough and comprehensive care, making recommendations for treatment plans and assisting in formulating therapeutic activities. Additionally, the clinician attend s annual and PRN trainings and webinars to improve competency in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use disorders.
