    The anticipated salary range for this role is between $119,000.00 and $138,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

    Role Description

    The Event Facility Manager will act as primary contact for events taking place in the newly renovated SMBC meeting space. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of our event facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained, efficiently run, and ready to host a variety of events. The Event Facility Manager will be responsible for vendor management, ensuring internal building policies are adhered to and coordinating with all necessary teams including security, facilities and IT.

    Role Objectives

    + Coordinate and oversee all logistics for events taking place in the meeting space facilities

    + Work closely with event hosts to understand their needs and ensure the facilities align with their requirements

    + Liaise with internal stakeholders on event requirements and coordinate with proper parties to execute

    + Assist with event set up and breakdown, when necessary

    + Collaborate with identified stakeholders to implement best practices, identify and improve inefficiencies

    + Create, implement and document operational policies and procedures for pre, during and post event as well as meeting space

    + Communicate with internal stakeholders to answer relevant questions about the facilities

    + Identify ways to elevate event experiences and showcase SMBC brand

    + Become an expert in all things related to the meeting facilities and related event operations

    + Review schedule of reservations, evaluate needs and re-assign to alternate space, if appropriate

    + Determine what supplies and resources are needed, monitor and order inventory as needed

    + Perform routine inspections of the space to make sure it is properly maintained

    + Ensure the event facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues

    + Manage reporting, tracking and reconciliation of relevant data

    + Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors

    + Partner with Events & Sponsorship team on special projects/events

    + Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests. Address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally

    + Proactively leverage experience with enthusiasm toward process improvement and apply knowledge to provide best in class client service.

    + Adhere to internal processes, policies, and best practices, including but not limited to those set by compliance and procurement

    Qualifications and Skills

    + Minimum of 6 years experience in event planning and venue management

    + Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities, multiple projects, changing elements and assertive personalities

    + Effective communication and interpersonal skills, business writing and presentations. Ability to interact with all levels of client management.

    + Aptitude and ability to navigate using different technology systems/platforms

    + Self-starter who demonstrates confidence, responsiveness, enthusiasm

    + Solutions driven, ability to think and act in a proactive manner. Capable of seeing the big picture while understanding how each element contributes to the greater whole. Must be competent to project how a change or delay in one area will impact the overall project. Willingness to try new ideas and challenge status quo.

    + Demonstrates the highest standards of ethics, integrity, honesty, diversity, and discretion

    + Fluency in office productivity software: MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), SharePoint, MS Teams

    + Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings
