    Are you an experienced Electrical Mechanical Technician looking for an exciting opportunity? The Clorox Company is seeking a talented Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Technician (EIC Tech) to join our dynamic team at our Atlanta Main facility. Here, we use state-of-the-art packaging equipment and utilities to manufacture and distribute our renowned Clorox Cleaning Home Care and Laundry products.     Your Role: As an EIC Technician, you will ensure the smooth and safe operation of all electrically controlled devices in our facility. Your responsibilities will include:

    In this role, you will:

    + Safety First: Adhering to all Clorox Plant safety rules and eliminating safety risks.

    + Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving electrical and control issues, including PLC, motor, and HMI problems:

    + Maintenance: Performing preventive maintenance, ensuring proper hardware and software configurations, and keeping critical spares in stock.

    + Data Management: Accurately inputting data into the CMMS system and maintaining up-to-date prints and manuals.

    + Network Support: Troubleshooting control network problems and ensuring proper communication protocols.

    + Project Involvement: Providing electrical support for capital and internal projects, driving system upgrades, and managing contractors.

    + Knowledge Sharing: Assisting with training and sharing your expertise with team members.

    + Work Schedule: Our facility operates 24/7 with 12-hour crews working on a two-week cycle: [2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off].

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems, including voltage and amp readings, wiring, relays, motors, sensors, and valves.

    + Diagnose and resolve PLC issues, with a thorough understanding of Allen Bradley ControlLogix, PLC-5, and SLC-500/MicroLogix series.

    + Maintain and troubleshoot motor control systems, including VFDs and servo motors.

    + Inspect, test, and maintain electrical equipment such as motors, starters, breakers, transformers, and more.

    + Address HMI software and hardware issues, including Allen Bradley PanelView and PC-based applications.

    + Calibrate and maintain instrumentation equipment like transmitters, valves, and flow meters.

    + Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, including pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors.

    + Ensure compliance with the Controls Change Management System and maintain all necessary documentation.

    + Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment including but not limited to: transmitters (all types), valves, I/P, positioners, actuators, dampers, flow meters, and level sensors.

    + Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain mechanical equipment including but not limited to pumps, pump & motor alignment, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyors.

    + Troubleshoot control network problems. Understand the architecture and parameters of the network for PLC's and Process databases and be able to fix the problems that will arise. This is to include wiring problems, corrupted file problems, failed component problems, and set-up problems. troubleshoot and configure the following communications networks and protocols: Ethernet/IP, Remote I/O.

    + Troubleshoot problems with quality inspection systems, case coding, and bottle coding systems. Resolve accurate course of action and safely implement it.

    + Maintain all electrical prints for all the systems that have been assigned. This is to include a copy at the panel, a copy in the central library, and a copy in a software format on the network. Ensure any modifications are reflected on all three copies and the revision date, reason, and person modifying are recorded.

    + Maintain all PLC programs for all the systems assigned. This is to include a copy at the panel, a copy in the central library and a disc back-up of the program.

    + Maintain all parameters for all VFD's and HMI's for the systems assigned. This is to include a copy at the VFD or HMI location, a copy in the central files and a copy in a software format on the network.

    + Determine all the parts needed for the systems assigned to him/her, determine their criticality, and ensure needed parts are in stock.

    + Provide electrical support to capital and internal projects. This is to include job walks, prints, job scopes, managing contractors and participating in meetings. Further, drive upgrades to the control systems in the plant.

    + Ensure compliance with the Controls Change Management System where non-emergency changes are approved and documented prior to the change being made.

    What We Expect:

    + Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to safely implement solutions.

    + Detailed knowledge of PLC programs, VFDs, and HMI systems.

    + Ability to manage and maintain electrical prints, PLC programs, and system parameters.

    + Commitment to safety and cleanliness in the workplace.

    + Willingness to perform basic mechanical work and continuously learn new skills.

    What we look for:

    _Candidates for the position will be evaluated in five areas – technical aptitude, education, work experience, performance, and leadership skills. There will be an onsite interview, face to face interviews._

    Strong knowledge of the following:

    • Electrical Safe Work Practices

    • AC and DC Electrical Theory

    • Reading Electrical Prints and Control Schematics

    • Motor Control

    • PC Hardware and Software

    • Computer Networks

    • HMI Systems

    • Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves

    • Photo Eyes

    • Proximity Sensors

    • Limit Switches

    • Breakers

    • Fuses.

    Knowledge and ability to be able to troubleshoot the following systems properly and safely:

    • Control Panels Using Relay Logic

    • Cam Driven Switch Boxes

    • Heat and Humidity Control Systems

    • Process control valves

    • Pneumatic Control Systems

    • Hydraulic Control Systems

    • Case and bottle Coding Systems.

     

    Knowledge of and ability to work with and troubleshoot the following motor control equipment properly and safely. Such items include, but are not restricted to:

     

    • Motor Starters

    • Run Relays

    • Variable Frequency Drives

    • Servo Motors and Controls

    Knowledge of and ability to work with and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC's to include the following:

    • Connecting to the PLC

    • Reading/Modifying Ladder Logic

    • Diagnosing Hardware Problems

    • Diagnosing Software Problems.

    Education and Work Experience:

    Industrial experience with fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, case packers, palletizers, blow molders, and/or other automated packaging equipment are not required but are considered highly desirable..

     

    OR successful completion of a two (2) year college curriculum in technical areas OR vocational school certificates of completion of training in mechanical/electrical technical areas. Other vendor courses electrical/controls are desirable and may be considered as experience. Wide exposure to various technical areas during past work experiences will be evaluated on an individual basis.

    Communication Skills:

    Candidate must display safe work practices and demonstrate those behaviors on a consistent basis. Candidates must be able to work well with others. Demonstrate passion and pride in their work. Demonstrate initiative and ownership in addressing problems as they arise without supervision. Work with others to develop and implement creative and effective solutions.
