    Summary

    The Data Science Analyst Master is important to the execution of Simplot’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) vision and the deployment of solutions that transform how we operate and make decisions. This role will bring together the capabilities of Data Science and AI with opportunities to enhance business capabilities beyond what humans can accomplish alone. The Analyst will manage the delivery of complex AI solutions supporting multiple global business domains. The role upholds and shapes AI governance policy and process to ensure safe and protected solutions are deployed. This is an individual contributor role that provides expertise managing requirements for complex technology solutions, and leads and influences the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Data Science work.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Facilitates sessions with the business to define moderately to highly complex AI use cases.

    + Capture and document product functional requirements from business partners, including new products, features and enhancements. Regularly obtain feedback from business owners and stakeholders to confirm requirements are met prior to deployment. Manage requirements throughout product lifecycle.

    + Defines test cases based on specific business use cases. Manages UAT with team members and business partners.

    + Demonstrates technical and non-technical leadership with foundational data management or machine learning/AI knowledge and skills, and exerts influence outside of immediate team.

    + Facilitates and/or performs data quality management and remediation, including basic to highly complex data profiling and data cleansing activities with business SMEs.

    + Participates in the delivery of solutions to complex problems.

    + Contributes to strategic direction for data science product delivery teams.

    + Represents team to business partners.

    + Influences and consults with team members and other organizations, business partners, and vendors on complex issues.

    + Expertise with internal standards and policies relevant to AI governance and data science. Assists the business in assessing risks and applying standards and policies.

    + May direct other employees or vendors in configuration design and implementation tasks.

    Bachelor’s degree required, equivalent education and experience may be considered

    • General leadership and influencing skills with data science and/or analytics product lifecycle management and development.

    • Advanced skills in requirements gathering, defining use cases, synthesizing research, and creating documentation.

    • Participation in one or more full product release cycles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team.

    • Advanced understanding of software configuration, design, testing and implementation practices.

    • Advanced understanding of information security procedures and practices and data management practices.

    • Good understanding of data modeling and preparation.

    • Intermediate to advanced understanding or experience with data preparation, visualization, analysis, or AI solution development using no or low-code technologies, or common programming languages (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python, Azure services).

    • Strong meeting planning and facilitation skills.

    • Intermediate to advanced understanding of standard business processes; strong ability to align product scope with business objectives.

    • Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems as applicable.
