What You'll Do at Pega:
+ Software Design and Development:
+ Demonstrate exemplary technical leadership to technically drive strategic initiatives of limited scope, for a Tribe (backlog); assimilate multiple technologies and integrate them into an effective solution; document suggestions for continued improvements to internal systems and products;
+ Work with the development teams to define an effective implementation plan for the architecture; and
+ Communicate fluently architecture/design to stakeholders, including poise in pressure situations.
+ Architecture:
+ Collaborate closely with Product Owners to understand business use cases and come up with architecture for those use cases;
+ Work closely with leadership to ensure alignment of our business goals and our enterprise architecture;
+ Research new technologies and patterns and figure out how to apply them to the platform;
+ Define architecture standards and promote them within the Tribe (product area);
+ Identify architecture gaps and work with the different stakeholders across organizational boundaries to address them;
+ Participate in architecture forums across Tribes (product areas);
+ Stay up-to-date with the standards & best practices in the industry, with the ability to define best practices & standards of technical excellence for the Tribe (product area);
+ Make decisions on selecting an architecture approach for wider adoption;
+ Drive initiatives by engaging with stakeholders, communicating and educating architecture and design;
+ Identify possible opportunities inherent to the technology;
+ Propose and lead architectural initiatives within the Tribe (product area);
+ Provide architecture expertise on the product across multiple teams in the Tribe (product area); and
+ Animate the software architect community within the Tribe (product area).
+ Lead the evolution of Pega’s Digital Experience API which is the foundation for systems and user interfaces to integrate with Pega’s products.
+ Technical Thought Leadership:
+ Participate and present in technical conferences/forums;
+ Write blogs in both internal and external forums; and
+ Look for opportunities to publish papers and file disclosures.
+ Motivation and Knowledge Transfer:
+ Mentor and coach software engineers on architecture;
+ Work closely with the team to provide guidance, ensure alignment and increase the team's architecture awareness and ensure architecture challenges are proactively identified and addressed; and
+ Provide constructive feedback through architecture/design reviews.
Who You Are:
+ Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study, and
+ 8 years of experience as a Software Architect involving software development or architecture, including 6 years of experience building cloud native platforms.
+ Experience specified must include 8 years of experience with each of the following:
+ Software engineering;
+ SDLC; and
+ Algorithms and data structures.
+ Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following:
+ Working with internal and external customers and product owners to understand problems and provide solutions;
+ Delivering production software that is highly available, achieving greater than 99% availability and scales to support thousands of users; and
+ Writing code to build an end to end system.
+ Experience specified must include 3 years of experience with each of the following:
+ Utilizing Architecture and Design principles, patterns and anti-patterns; Full Stack Technologies in a Cloud Native Environment;
+ Pega Digital Experience API; and
+ Mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
+ Telecommuting permitted.
+ May live anywhere in the U.S.

**Salary:** $172,744 to $262,700
