Senior Software Architect, Shared User Services Engineering (Multiple Openings)

What You'll Do at Pega:

+ Gather requirements and create and review high-level and low-level architecture/design.

+ Build highly scalable system that will be cloud native, based on open standards and API driven.

+ Drive key architecture/design decisions that meet both tactical/strategic goals of the product and the company as a whole.

+ Leverage best in class technologies for building robust and future-proof capabilities in the product.

+ Work as part of a collaborative agile team working in a SCRUM model surrounded by fun loving talented engineers.

+ Apply architecture and design principles and patterns.

+ Guide/provide technical training and influence business/technical decisions.

+ Guide and groom the next level architects in the group by mentoring and sharing the learnings.

+ Write code that is clean, modularized, unit tested, highly concurrent, performant, and optimized.

+ Maintain existing code base and fix bugs.

+ Constantly update knowledge regarding latest developments and best practices in software industry and apply them at work.

+ Begin/continue your journey to become a software craftsman.

Who You Are:

+ Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study, and

+ 5 years of experience as a software architect involving cloud, back-end and front-end technologies.

+ Experience specified must include 4 years of experience with each of the following:

+ Designing, building, deploying, and managing CI/CD pipelines for a highly available service;

+ Node js and npm packages;

+ Building front-end applications using ReactJS and Redux frameworks;

+ Software development methodologies and quality processes;

+ Defining the architecture/design and writing code to build an end-to-end system with exposure to Front end technologies; and

+ Kubernetes, AWS CloudWatch, CloudFront, AWS VPC’s and networking.

+ Experience specified must include 2 years of experience using cloud technologies including Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for the provisioning and managing of cloud infrastructure.

+ Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.

+ Must live within normal commuting distance from the Pegasystems Inc. office in Waltham, MA.
