    ManTech** seeks a highly talented **Project Engineer** with skills, background, and experience related to Launch Vehicle (LV) systems, project management, and software productivity tool use, to help the Space Force redefine the future of Assured Access to Space (AATS). This position is based out of **Cape Canaveral, FL** OR **El Segundo, CA.

     

    This position will support the United States Space Force (USSF) AATS Engineering Division and the launch services they procure.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Provide LV systems engineering expertise at our El Segundo, CA offices. Areas of expertise may include Systems, Propulsion, Avionics, Structural, Digital, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering, Mission Assurance, or Launch Operations.

    + Plan, coordinate, participate, facilitate Engineering Review Boards, provide risk assessments and technical recommendations.

    + Perform systems engineering functions such as requirements definition, design review, test review, pedigree, hardware acceptance, verification, operations, and post-flight analyses.

    + Prepare Customer team for, and directly support, rehearsals and launch operations, including the anomaly resolution process. Perform technical and engineering data management, such as data mining and reporting.

    + Collaborate with The Aerospace Corporation (Aerospace), Launch Vehicle Contractors (LVCs), Launch Sites, and production factories, as needed.

    + Prepare weekly and other written evaluations and reports of a technical nature.

    + Serve as authority in your technical specialization, support USSF customers in the preparation for and execution of Chief Engineer briefings, Weekly Status Reviews, and other SSC processes.

    + Independence, initiative, dedicated, collaborative, proactive problem solving and customer support. Sound judgment, decision-making, and collaboration with multiple agencies and personnel.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical) or STEM field.

    + 10+ years systems engineering, technical program management, or other related experience with at least three years of AATS, Launch/Range, Department of Defense, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), or industry equivalent launch or space systems project engineering experience.

    + Knowledge/experience with LV systems (solid rockets motors, liquid propellant rocket engines and systems, ordnance, hydraulics, in-flight avionics, LV ground support equipment, LV structures, composite materials, etc.)

    + Knowledge of USSF and NASA launch and range systems and operations.

    + Experience with LV design, processing, integration, testing, launch and anomaly resolution.

    + Ability to assess design drawings, processes, and procedures of engineering systems.

    + Ability to perform design reviews, pre- and post-test reviews, procedures reviews, failure analysis.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Knowledge of LV systems and operations preferred.

    + Experience with USSF, NRO, NASA, and LVCs preferred.

    + Previous project management experience preferred.

    + Experience with agile software products, such as Warp Core, Jira, Confluence, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and Information Technology systems is highly preferred.

    + Ability giving written and verbal presentations and reports to senior engineers and management.

    Clearance Requirements:

    + Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance, however not required to start.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

    + Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

    + Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

    + Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
