    ManTech seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented **Application Developer SME** to join our team in supporting both **Sterling** and **Rosslyn, VA** locations.

     

    Each day U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) oversees the massive flow of people, capital, and products that enter and depart the United States via air, land, sea, and cyberspace. The volume and complexity of both physical and virtual border crossings require the application of “big data” solutions to promote efficient trade and travel.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    + Architect Lead, develop and maintain end-user focused, object-oriented, data-driven analytic applications using DevOps and Agile development principles and technologies to support CBP threat analysis and targeting in an agile environment.

    + Independently identify technical solutions for business problems, directly contribute to conceptual design, and routinely collaborate with Enterprise architects, Database Architects, Data Scientists, and mission stakeholders for building and transitioning on-prem applications to a hybrid cloud environment on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

    + Design, develop, and implement scalable, high-performance and reliable applications and

    + microservices using Java (including frameworks like Spring Boot) for the backend and modern

    + Develop new code, modify existing application code, conduct unit and system testing, and engage in rigorous documentation of developed and delivered application use cases, data flows, and functional operations.

    + Actively participate in formal and informal design reviews, solution sessions, and project milestone meetings as well as contribute to project document artifacts for presentation to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    + Mentor junior developers and actively contribute to the development of a community of practice focused on enhancing technical skills, sharing best practices, and promoting enhanced mission domain knowledge.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + HS Diploma/GED and 20+ years or AS/AA and 18+ years or BS/BA and 12+ years or MS/MA/MBA and 9+years or PhD/Doctorate and 7+ years

    + Hands on experience developing Micro Services architecture patterns including building and deploying containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).

    + Experience with messaging queues such as gRPC, RabbitMQ, Kafka

    + Hands-on experience setting up, configuring, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated application delivery using Harness or Jenkins

    + Experience delivering and/or migrating solutions into Amazon Web Services (AWS EC2, RDS, S3)

    + Hands on experience with Oracle SQL and/or PL/SQL used in development of web applications

    + Experience with application IDE tools including Eclipse, Jupyter Notebook, and Apache Zeppelin

    Preferred Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 15+ years of technical experience

    + NoSQL database systems such as Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.

    + Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira, BitBucket

    + Hands on experience with Oracle SQL and/or PL/SQL to support service life agreements within applications and Continuous integration with Jenkins or Bamboo.

    + Agile Scrum and possibly experience with leading a Scrum team as a scrum master or equivalent

    Clearance Requirements:

    + Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Suitability prior to starting this position.

    Physical Requirements:

    + The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
