Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an engineer focusing on preventive maintenance data analysis to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. To be successful, the candidate must be skilled in reliability and maintainability data analysis, as well as discovering potential trends in the collected data.
The ability to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate in a visible and proactive manner is an imperative aspect of the role, and will be evaluated equally alongside specific, applied experiences. Experience with trend analysis and maintenance data analysis is key.
This position is responsible for: 1) discovering data trends of maintenance analysis data; 2) providing graphical representations of the data trends, 3) generating presentations to internal management that demonstrate an understanding of the maintenance data trends; and 4) supporting customer meetings that discuss maintenance analysis and correlation to like data sets.
Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation s nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum education and years of relevant / related experience required: Bachelor s degree in engineering or related field and at least 2 years related/relevant work experience.
Also required:
+ Understand basic engineering principles and experience with reliability and maintainability concepts
+ Demonstrated Self-Starter
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
+ Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
+ Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
+ Understanding of data analysis concepts
+ Experience with various engineering tools / languages including 2D/3D CAD, MCAD, and/or MATLAB Simulink
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Systems Engineering Degree
+ Experience working with modeling tools
+ Understand detailed engineering principles and experience data analysis trends
+ Experience within the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office and the Strategic Weapon Systems
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
