AVAILABLE WITHIN THE BUREAU OF ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY*
PART-TIME 25 HRS WEEKLY, LIMITED TO 3 – 6, MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT.

THIS IS NOT A TELEWORK POSITION. CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK IN THE TALLAHASSEE OFFICE.
Regular business hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday.
SPECIAL NOTE: As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
The Work You Will Do:
This position provides program support and technical assistance to local governments, private non-profits, Community Program Managers, GOC II’s and GOC III’s, and department staff for the programs operated in the Bureau of Economic Self Sufficiency (BESS).
The Difference You Will Make:
The LIHEAP program is federally funded programs that helps income-qualified households with a multitude of assistance services ranging from utility bill assistance, self-sufficiency programs, to energy efficient housing repairs. The Bureau of Economic Self-Sufficiency administers four programs and allocates funding directly to a network of community action agencies, non-profit organizations, and local governments which are known as local agency providers, located throughout the state of Florida.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
This position provides program support and technical assistance to local governments, private non-profits, Community Program Managers, GOC II’s and GOC III’s, and department staff for the programs operated in the Bureau of Economic Self Sufficiency (BESS).
The position is responsible for providing assistance with LIHEAP case management and other duties associated with administering the programs in BESS.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Enters information daily into a database consisting of applicants for the Florida Low-Income Home Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
+ Client case management, dealing with applicants and local agencies to fulfill all documentation required for application input
+ Input application information provided by customers from hard copy source into a case management database
+ Prepare, compile and sort application source documents for accuracy
+ Reviews, verifies data and makes corrections to data where necessary for data entry
+ Obtain further information for incomplete application documents
+ Update applicant information in a database
+ Sort and organize hard copies of paperwork after entering data electronically
+ Prepares, distributes and tracks documents and correspondence, including letters, memoranda, reports, contracts and other materials
+ Maintains current information on departmental and program administrative policies and procedures
+ Supports records and data management, including maintenance of all filing systems and the archiving of files to support all programs administered within BESS
+ Supports staff with technical assistance to subrecipients for fiscal reviews, program design, administration, reports, reimbursement processes, any other applicable documents, and other program operations
+ Supports records management, including maintenance of all filing systems and the archiving of files for all programs operated within BESS
+ Assists with program all program correspondence to local providers, maintains mailing lists and e-mail addresses for program contacts.
+ Performs initial reviews, processes reports and other documents, as appropriate to all programs
+ Attends meetings relevant to programs associated with BESS.
+ Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:
+ Knowledge of general office practices
+ Knowledge of compiling data and preparing related reports
+ Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communications
+ Knowledge of basic mathematics
+ Skilled in typing and the use of keyboard-controlled data input devices

+ Experience with or Ability to - support State, Federal, and/or local government grant and contract management regulations and processes
+ Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
