    Position Summary:

    The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely movement of goods in and out of the facility. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and proficiency in forklift operation to support safe and efficient warehouse workflows. Additionally, the role requires proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, preferably SAP, to assist in managing inventory, reporting, and other operational tasks. The Shipping and Receiving Lead will assist in coordinating with carriers, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist in coordinating daily shipping and receiving activities.

    + Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation of all outgoing shipments.

    + Verify and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and completeness as necessary within the escalation process.

    + Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments in the inventory system.

    + Assist with carriers and freight companies for pick-ups and deliveries as needed.

    + Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.

    + Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to inventory control or warehouse management.

    + Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.

    + Utilize MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and communication.

    + Leverage ERP systems (preferably SAP) to track inventory, manage orders, and support logistics operations.

    + Set an example for others with personal work ethics, positive attitude, and good attendance.

    + Follow the Supervisor's lead to orient and train new employees.

    + Work with the Supervisor to assign and coordinate employees' daily work assignments and hours, including assessing additional work time as needed to ensure the daily completion of scheduled work.

    + Monitor schedule, breaks, and lunches of personnel to minimize down time.

    + Monitor shipping schedules and alert the Supervisor of potential problems or bottlenecks.

    + Work with the Supervisor to anticipate workload requirements and stage product and resources accordingly. Report on all material needs, discrepancies, or changes to the Supervisor.

    + Handle additional tasks necessary within the plant to fulfill the needs of the company and the customer as deemed by the management.

    + Encourage all employees to attain maximum productivity through leadership and observation.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + 2+ years of warehouse or logistics experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.

    + Strong understanding of shipping and receiving procedures and documentation.

    + Experience with inventory management systems, preferably SAP

    + Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and communication.

    + Excellent organizational and communication skills.

    + Proficient in forklift operation, with ability to safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts.

    + Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain one.

    + Experience with ERP systems or WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) preferred.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Regular attendance is essential.

    + Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude.

    + Must have the ability to write, speak and read in English.

    Work Environment:

    The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

    Physical Demands:

    The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationery, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
