Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments aligned with the center’s mission to advance functional precision medicine.
- Develop and conduct in-vitro drug screens using advanced methods and complex patient-derived models.
- Perform preclinical in-vivo assays in mouse models as needed.
- Handle and process patient tissue samples.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare reports, grant applications, and presentations.
- Stay updated with relevant literature and research publications.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Develop, modify, and improve standard operating procedures.
- Utilize computer-interfaced equipment and automation for research tasks.
Qualifications:
- PhD or doctoral degree in biomedical/bioengineering or MD with research experience preferred.
- 4-5 years of postgraduate experience is preferred.
- Proven supervisory experience in leading and developing team members.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in writing grants, manuscripts, and reports.
- Recent benchwork experience in cellular and molecular biology, in vivo and in vitro cancer models, and cancer genomics.
- Familiarity with genomic databases and ability to understand new concepts quickly.
- Innovative approach to process development and goal achievement.
- Experience in manuscript and grant/proposal writing is required.
- Excellent organizational and data management skills.
- Proficiency in graphing software (Microsoft suite, Graphpad/Prism) and basic coding (R/Python) is highly desirable.
