    WCBD TV is an NBC Affiliate Station owned by Nexstar Media Inc. We are located in the beautiful Lowcountry area of Charleston, SC. Charleston is known for its warm weather, friendly people, charming downtown, outstanding food, beautiful beaches, and so much history.

     

    The Creative Services Producer will be a highly motivated and creative individual. This position will be expected to write scripts, shoot video and use editing software to create promotional spots, public service announcements, commercials and additional content as needed.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Writes scripts that promote news stories and station initiatives, PSAs and commercials that are :30 or less

    + Occasionally writes scripts for long format video

    + Works closely with the News department, under the supervision of the Creative Services Director, to conceive and produce compelling on-air promos either independently or as a team

    + Attends daily News meetings

    + Plans and execute shoots by choosing locations, scheduling talent, identifying necessary equipment, setting up video and audio equipment and composing shots

    + Shoots video for promotional and commercial efforts

    + Maintains video equipment

    + Comes up with a creative and cohesive look for spots

    + Creates graphics and text pieces to be used in spots

    + Performs other duties as assigned

    Requirements & Skills :

    + High school diploma

    + Previous television experience preferred

    + Fluency in English

    + Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

    + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

    + Ability to write compelling copy for promotional spots and commercials

    + Proficient in using professional editing software, preferably Adobe Premiere

    + Comfortable creating simple motion graphics in Adobe After Effects

    + Must have an eye for photography by understanding lighting and composition

    + Must have previous experience using professional cameras to record video and audio

    + Understanding of basic graphic design concepts

    + Must be able to work in a deadline driven environment and ensure that assigned projects are delivered on time

    + Must have flexibility to occasionally work at station events in the community on weekends
