Job Summary:

The Litigation Manager proactively manages a significant, fast-paced litigation caseload involving the prosecution and defense of legal disputes, including first-hand supervision of external legal counsel and facilitation of legal advice for internal business partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Comply with all legal and professionalism standards and regulations.

+ Detailed management of claims and litigation within assigned jurisdiction.

+ Prepare and draft legal correspondence and discovery on behalf of company.

+ Initiate litigation holds and conduct high-volume document review for production.

+ Hire and proactively oversee outside counsel representation to protect company’s interests.

+ Negotiate settlements on behalf of the company at settlement conferences and mediations.

+ Testify as corporate representative at depositions.

+ Represent the company at arbitrations and trials.

Required Experience:

+ 5 to 7 years experience as litigation paralegal

+ Thorough knowledge of company’s industry, products and services

+ Working knowledge of civil litigation terminology, practices, and procedures

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic litigation environment, independently and with initiative

+ Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners

+ Strong analytical and organizational skills

+ Ability to prioritize and plan against a set of constantly changing goals

+ Familiarity with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and litigation management technology (e.g., Legal Tracker, Relativity)

+ Bachelor’s degree
