    Description: Road & Rail Services is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and lead switching operations at our New Wales location. We are looking for a motivated and dependable leader with railroad experience who understands the importance of safety, precision, and productivity in a fast-paced environment.

     

    As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of our switching crew while ensuring full compliance with all safety procedures, customer guidelines, and company standards. You will play a key role in maintaining site excellence through effective leadership, hands-on support, and continuous improvement of processes and team performance. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to think critically, and a proactive approach to managing both people and rail operations.

     

    You must have prior railroad experience, as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. This position requires an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to driving team success through accountability and clear communication. A safety-first mentality and a willingness to learn and lead by example are essential.

     

    The ideal candidate will be able to make independent decisions regarding hiring, coaching, and team management, and will foster a culture that aligns with the company's ethical practices and core principles. You will also be expected to work closely with both associates and customers to ensure the services provided meet or exceed expectations.

    Requirements:

    + Prior railroad experience is required

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office

    + Strong leadership and communication skills

    + Valid driver's license

    + High school diploma or GED

    + Reliable attendance and a can-do attitude
