    Job Title:              Logistics Manager

     

    Classification:     Exempt

     

    Department:      Logistics

     

    Reports to:          Manufacturing Manager

     

    Shift:                    Monday-Friday

    Purpose:

    The Logistics Manager provides guidance to the shipping and receiving areas of KAAP and is responsible for the setting of policies & direction for the Logistics department.  This position is instrumental in the communication of delivery status to our customers and within KAAP.  Coordinates the flow of product from production to warehouse then to the customers. Responsible for finished goods inventory accuracy.

    General Duties:

    + Manage work schedules to meet deliveries

    + Ensure customer shipments are delivered

    + Ensure that receipts are organized and entered into QAD system

    + Provide oversight for warehouse layout

    + Ensures finished goods warehouse in organized and maintained

    + Communicate with Production and Customers on delivery issues

    + Facilitate transportation between KAAP , vendors & customers

    + Insure that daily production is put away into proper place in the warehouse

    + Insure that department personnel are trained/ qualified

    + Budget for expenses/headcount/capital spending for Logistics

    + Direction for day-to-day activities in Logistics

    + Maintain focus on cost savings activities

    + Supports companies 5S and safety initiatives

    + Performs other duties as required

    Skills:

    + Strong verbal and written communication

    + Self- starter, multi-tasked and detailed oriented, excellent computer and math skills

    + Excellent problem solving and time management.

    + Responsible for enforcing Company policies.

    + Ability to work well in a multi-cultural environment.

    Requirements:

    + High school diploma or equivalent is required.

    + Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.

    + Strong interpersonal skills with team leader, coaching and mentoring ability.

    + Prior experience working in a multi-cultural company is preferred.

    + Experience in automotive sector is preferred.
