Title: Substitute Teacher

Job Description: Provide direct instruction to all students.

Qualifications:

+ Hold valid New York State School teaching certificate or requisite hours per NY state guidelines preferred.

+ Flexibility to meet the needs of a range of student learners

+ Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff

+ Strong communication skills

+ Strong organizational and planning skills

Responsibilities:Shall include but are not limited to the following:

+ Ability to follow plans provided

+ Ability to plan lessons as needed

+ Knowledge of classroom management strategies

+ Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed

+ Ability to organize and coordinate work;

+ Ability to communicate effectively with students and parent(s) guardian(s)

+ Ability to engage culturally diverse students; and

+ Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Terms of Employment:

The position of Substitute Teacher can be per diem, short term, long term or ten-month position.

Reports to:Building Principal

Salary: Minimum starting salary as per the Victor Teachers' Association Contract

NYSED teacher certified - $130/day (1-30 days)

- $145/day (31+ days)

Uncertified -$120/day

NYS TRS retiree -$145/day (1-30 days)

-$160/day (31+ days)

Teacher Assistant Sub. -$15.75/hr
