Penn Medicine is seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) Palliative Care Physician to join our Inpatient Palliative Care Team at Pennsylvania Hospital. A large majority of the physician’s time will be spent working with the Palliative Care team and a small portion will be spent rounding on hospice patients.
The physician will join an well established interdisciplinary team comprised of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, and chaplains. This role is 100% inpatient Palliative Care focused. The ideal candidate would be an experienced physician who is comfortable practicing independently and in a small team. The physician will work a Monday-Friday dayshift schedule, every other week. This role has no call or weekend/holiday responsibilities.
Pennsylvania Hospital, the nation's first hospital, is a 515-bed acute care facility that provides a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic medical services and functions as a major teaching and clinical research institution. Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH) is part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and is located at 8th and Spruce Streets in the historic Society Hill district of Philadelphia.
Requirements:
+ Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (Allopathic/Osteopathic)
+ Completion of an accredited residency program
+ Completion of an accredited Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship
+ Board Certified or Board Eligible
+ Possess or able to obtain an unrestricted PA Medical License
+ 2-3 years of experience as a Hospice and Palliative physician desirable
