CTCT is a joint venture between Caterpillar Inc. and Trimble Inc. that develops positioning and control products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GPS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance.
The Senior Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineer supports product regulatory compliance programs through various activities that assist in managing compliance risk and ensuring compliance with applicable product regulatory requirements for intended markets.
What you will do:
+ Understand and stay current on product regulatory requirements, and related technology requirements, and understand application of same to CTCT products.
+ Follow and utilize established processes and tools to collect, assess, and manage information in support of product certification and compliance.
+ Identify continuous improvement opportunities for processes and tools used to manage product regulatory compliance risks.
+ Collaborate with product groups, design control and operations to ensure the development, validation and production of product that meets applicable product regulatory requirements.
Degree Requirement
+ Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
What you will have:
**Product Engineering:** **Working knowledge** of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing standards and methodologies to ensure product compliance and system integrity.
+ Summarizes discrepancies and failures in all standard processes; reports them to management.
+ Troubleshoots technical problems during the engineering stage and discusses these problems with colleagues.
**Collaborating** : Working knowledge of product regulations management, gained through **direct experience** as a compliance engineer **or** through roles requiring frequent collaboration with compliance teams. Has worked closely with regulatory stakeholders in Caterpillar machine product groups or Cat Electronics to ensure alignment with compliance standards and product certification requirements
+ Provides examples of how collaboration has helped achieve organizational goals.
+ Contrasts collaborative with competitive operating styles in organizations.
**Data Gathering & Analysis:** Working knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
+ Follows proper data gathering and analysis processes and policies.
+ Reports problems that arise in the data collection process.
**Product Development Best Practices** : Basic understanding of product development methods and ability to research, identify and apply formal disciplines and best practices for improving the quality and costs related to product development.
+ Cites examples of best practices and their relevance to the organization.
+ Locates and interprets best practice documentation relevant to one's area of responsibility.
**Risk Management:** Basic understanding of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
+ Identifies major categories of business risks.
+ Describes key issues and benefits of risk management practices.
+ Makes use of organizational resources for risk avoidance and management.
**Accuracy and Attention to Detail** : Working Knowledge of the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
+ Accurately gauges the impact and cost of errors, omissions, and oversights.
+ Develops and uses checklists to ensure that information goes out error-free.
**Decision Making and Critical Thinking** : Basic understanding of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
+ Explains characteristics and steps in an effective decision-making process.
+ Researchers the structure of target products to define and source accurate material and components for the project.
+ Applies appropriate instruments to corresponding stages of operations; ensures instruments are in-line with engineering standards.
**Product Design and Development** : Working knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
+ Communicate with professionals to understand various requirements of product design.
+ Tests and evaluates alternative means of production being considered for use.

+ Knowledge of Functional Safety

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
