RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs clinical diagnostic PET (positron emission tomography) imaging.
• Provides patient care during procedures.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting/carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 30 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds of force, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
• Occasional: kneeling, squatting, twisting body, reaching above, at, and below shoulder, repetitive arm/hand motions.
• Operates positron emission tomography scanner, radioisotope dose calibrator, radiation survey meter, computers, glucometer and facsimile.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Exposure to radioactive materials and radiation and communicable diseases.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii State license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support at the Healthcare Professional Level.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Two (2) years experience as a Nuclear Medical Technologist.
• Prior experience in working with positron emission tomography preferred.
