About the Team:
The Walmart/VIZIO Team operates with a mission to revolutionize media and entertainment technology. Our team collaborates across various disciplines to design, develop, and implement software solutions that drive our products. As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in achieving our company's goals by contributing to the architecture and development of next-generation media solutions.
What You’ll Do:
+ Design and architect new products and improve existing software.
+ Develop core components, conduct code reviews, and ensure implementation aligns with the design.
+ Create prototypes, design documents, and technical tasks.
+ Implement telemetry features and automation scripts for CI/CD processes.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and resolve issues.
+ Conduct code reviews and ensure security compliance.
+ Triage bugs and drive feature development.
What You’ll Bring:
+ 8+ years of experience in architecture, design, and software development for consumer electronic devices.
+ Proficiency in C, C++/C++11, and multi-threading.
+ Strong understanding of Linux, including processes, filesystems, permissions, and memory management.
+ Experience with multimedia frameworks (Gstreamer, ffmpeg), adaptive media streaming, and DRM (PlayReady).
+ Familiarity with Boost ASIO, Linux IPC, and debugging core dump files.
+ Preferred: Knowledge of Websockets, REST API, Docker, Rust, Python, and unit test frameworks like Catch2 or GoogleTest.
+ Effective communication skills and the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
