    The Mid-Prairie Community School District is in search of a PK-3 Inclusive Settings Special Education Teacher for the 25-26 school year. We are in search of highly qualified candidates who have a passion for working with students with disabilities, value collaboration with colleagues, and a strong desire to learn and grow as an educator. This position will be split between West Elementary and East Elementary.PK-3 Inclusive Settings Teacher will emphasize the ability to create and manage a learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learners, including children with and without disabilities. Key Responsibilities and Skills:

     

    + Curriculum Development and Implementation:Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences that meet the needs of all students in the classroom, including those with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) or IFSPs (Individualized Family Service Plans).

    + Differentiated Instruction:Modifying instruction and activities to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, considering individual strengths, learning styles, and disabilities.

    + Collaboration:Collaborating effectively with special education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students.

    + Assessment and Progress Monitoring:Using various assessment methods to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly, including formal and informal assessments.

    + Communication and Parent/Family Engagement:Maintaining open communication with parents and families, providing regular updates on student progress, and working collaboratively to support student learning.

    + Inclusive Practices:Creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and supports the participation and success of all students.

    + Classroom Management:Establishing and maintaining a positive and effective classroom management system that promotes student engagement and learning.

    + Professional Development:Staying up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education, inclusive education, and special education through ongoing professional development.

    Qualifications:

    + Education:A BA degree in early childhood education or a related field is required.

    + Endorsement:An Iowa teaching license with a PK-3, Inclusive Settings endorsement is required.

    + Experience:Prior experience in early childhood education, especially in inclusive settings, can be beneficial.
