    Job Description Summary:

    The Vice President, Nursing Operations is directly accountable for the overall operating effectiveness of Option Care Health Nursing. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, advancing, and sustaining a nursing operations organization that focuses on quality, growth, efficiency, and transformation. Responsible for a collaborative multi-disciplinary approach to drive consistent high quality patient care, to enable growth and create nursing capacity, to create optimized and consistent practices to deliver high-quality cost-effective care across the network, and ability to leverage technology to transform and advance the nursing operating model. The Vice President, Nursing will be responsible for talent development and building a high-performing culture to provide extraordinary care to more patients.

     

    **Job Description:** ​

    • **Job Responsibilities** (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

    + Lead operations in collaborative efforts with the clinical services team to develop, implement, and sustain processes that result in high quality patient care; ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and corporate policies to drive effectiveness and consistency in operations

    + Develop and drive key performance metrics for nursing operations; follow a data-driven approach to identify root cause issues and develop customized action plans. Advance reporting, tools, and training to enable Nursing leaders to improve results and execution in alignment with KPI targets.

    + Lead efforts in subcontract nurse management that includes but not limited to, invoice automation; contract review, updates, and adherence; compliance auditing; technology expansion.

    + Develop and drive nurse optimization, visit scheduling, and visit approval strategies; develop nurse process consistency through establishing nurse foundational expectations and visit process standardization

    + Develop and drive nursing enablement for strategic growth vectors. Represent nursing in strategic initiative workstreams and develop specific recommendations/plans across organization design, operating models, workflow and technology.

    + Develop and lead nurse support program that is available both during and after hours

    + Provide virtual and onsite CMC nursing support when key focus locations arise; support local leadership with the onboarding and training of new nurse managers

    + Work collaboratively with the Operations Training team to develop, review, enhance, and successfully launch training program for both established teammates and new hires; enhance recruiting efforts and improve retention rates

    + Develop nurse staffing/demand model through technology expansion to provide data driven approach to determining nurse needs based on geography, day of the week and time of the day. Develop and drive key performance metrics to adherence to nurse demand model. Evaluate and determine optimal full time to part time ratio of nursing labor force to drive cost efficiencies.

    + Partner with key leaders to drive nursing financial performance through managing controllable processes and expenses

    + Work collaboratively to drive consistent use of various technology platforms and systems to create an overall seamless and interoperable nursing platform. Partner with IT to developed advanced technology to improve quality and efficiency within Nursing.

    + Lead career development of nursing staff, including education, mentoring, ongoing learning, and development pathways.

    + Foster “intra-organizational” and “intra-departmental” teamwork by initiating communication with and working with other organizational areas to accomplish department goals.

    + Communicate the mission of the organization and nursing department to the staff. Develop and communicate specific strategies/objectives to accomplish the company’s/nursing department’s mission. Shares information, involves staff and gains their commitment to achieve goals. Communicate rationale behind changes in policies, procedures and organizational structure.

    + Consistently models behaviors that build our culture around the Option Care Health Core Values of Compassionate Care, Engaged Teams and Quality Results.

    + Set and clearly convey standards for performance that challenge subordinates and help them to learn and develop. Provide information/feedback regularly on performance including constructive criticism and encouragement. Hold staff responsible for achievement of goals/objectives.

    + Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Option Care Health data.

    + Provides mentorship and expertise to key operational areas when needed to assure collaboration and cross department understanding and alignment with key initiatives.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    + Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? YES(i.e. hiring, recommending/approving promotions and pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, discipline, etc.)

    Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

    + Bachelors degree in nursing or business

    + 8 years of progressive leadership experience.

    + Demonstrated success in leading clinical teams or nursing operations

    Basic Qualifications

    + Strong leadership in change management, clinical management and operations related to home infusion core therapies and nursing practice excellence.

    + Expert knowledge of nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to infusion services and improvement of nursing care.

    + Excellent communication and organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work with all types of people.

    + Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget. Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and enabling technology to improve quality, drive growth/capacity, and increase nursing efficiencies.

    + Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.

    + Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

    + Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems. Data-driven and analytical leader who effectively solves problems and identifies opportunities.

    + Experience planning organizing, developing, implementing and interpreting programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Change agent who is able to implement changes in an effective and engaging manner.

    + Knowledge of local, State, Federal, accrediting body, and OSHA rules and regulations.

    + Intermediate to advanced skills in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Travel Requirements

    + Willing to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within and out of state).

    Preferred Qualifications & Interests

    + Master’s degree in nursing, business or health care administration.

    + Bachelor’s degree in nursing with active Registered Nurse license.

    + Experience leading multi-site sales and/or operations in Home Health Care or Infusion

    Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

    Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

     

    Pay Range is $180,599.08-$301,005.81
