    Job Description

    Inframark is hiring! We are seeking a skilled Auto Shop Technician to join our municipal equipment maintenance team in Opelika, AL. This position plays a crucial support role in our shop, working on a diverse range of equipment from small tools to large garbage trucks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal equipment, including small tools, vehicles, and large garbage trucks.

    + Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software.

    + Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is in safe and operational condition.

    + Replace or repair defective parts, components, and systems.

    + Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.

    + Collaborate with other technicians and shop staff to ensure timely completion of tasks.

    + Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

    + Assist in ordering and inventory management of parts and supplies.

    + Provide support in emergency repair situations as needed.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive repair preferred.

    + Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive repair, preferably with municipal or heavy equipment.

    + Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.

    + Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    + Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts.

    + Comfortable working in various weather conditions.

    + Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
