    What You Will Do:

    Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military jet engines, is seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to join our organization. The role will be in New Product Introductions (NPI) responsible for supporting the manufacture of new & experimental engine components by our supplier base. This critical role will report to the Global Supply Chain Operational Excellence (OpX) organization and bridges design engineering and supply chain by driving technical excellence, process capability and continuous improvement with our manufacturing partners.

    Responsibilities:

    + Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and assess Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) within P&W Supply Base.

    + Collaborate with P&W’s Integrated Product Team (IPT) design engineering, quality and procurement to address manufacturability concerns and drive cost-effective solutions.

    + Evaluate new engineering designs and changes to establish the MRL advancement plan and certification, including evaluations of tooling, equipment, special test and inspection requirements, to ensure smooth integration into the supplier’s production processes.

    + Identify and provide guidance on manufacturing methods that will lead to strengthened process controls, increased throughput and improved quality at suppliers.

    + Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or delivery issues.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.

    + U.S. citizenship

    + The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

    + Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, special processes, inspection methods and process controls. Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.

    + Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and quality standards.

    + Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) methodologies.

    + Background in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.

    + Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.

    + Professional certifications such as Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Lean Practitioner.

    This role is:

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

     

    The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
