    Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The hourly salary for this role ranges from $20.77 - $25.96 per hour for those enrolled in bachelor programs and $34.62 per hour for those in a master program.

    Position Overview:

    The Electrical Engineering Services and Systems global service team is one of the largest and most experienced teams of power system professionals in the industry. Eaton’s Power Generation Project Engineers deliver professional engineering, design, and analysis services. As one of our engineers, you’ll help our clients’ electrical systems operate more reliably, efficiently and safely. As part of our team, you’ll help share our experience and technical know-how in the areas of electrical design.

     

    The Power Generation Project Engineering Internship is designed to provide opportunities to participants who demonstrate the same high level of ethics, values, creativity and performance we expect from our employees. During the 12-week paid internship, participants will work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business and will be coached and mentored by leaders within the division.

    In this internship, you will:

    • Assist in providing applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in power systems design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training.

    • Obtain mentoring from lead engineers

    • Build knowledge and understanding of turnkey projects

    • Build a working knowledge of NEC, NESC, ANSI, and IEEE standards

     

    This internship will help prepare you for both technical and future leadership roles at Eaton. As an intern, you will be provided with a structured training and development curriculum; a blend of instructor-led, virtual classrooms, eLearning courses, and on-the-job training provided by expert mentors and team members to assist you in developing your career.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in engineering with a focus in Electrical or Electrical/Computer Engineering from an accredited institution

    • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future

    • This position does not offer relocation. The candidate must reside within 50 miles of Lewiston, ME.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher

    • Coursework in three phase circuit analysis, power systems or electrical machines

    • Experience with engineering software (AutoCAD, MATLAB)

    • Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community

    Position Criteria:

    • Strong analytical, computer, writing and presentation skill

    • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach to or below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to climb and reach above shoulder level. The employee is regularly required to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull greater than 50 pounds with assistance

    • This role may include up to 25% travel within a local region as determined by the Assignment Manager

    • Successfully complete and maintain compliance with the company’s safety program

    • Transportation to and from the worksite, and for incidental business travel, is the responsibility of the intern. Expenses for required and approved business travel will be reimbursed

    • The summer internship culminates with a formal presentation where participants showcase their success stories to leaders of the organization and receive feedback on their performance
