Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Oligonucleotide Manufacturing to
oversee the day-to-day operations of our oligonucleotide synthesis facility in Louisville, KY.
This position reports to the Business Unit Manager of Eurofins Genomics and will lead a team of
40–50 employees in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will
have deep experience in manufacturing operations, process optimization, and automation, along
with a solid background in organic chemistry.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead and oversee daily oligonucleotide manufacturing operations to ensure optimal performance, quality, and efficiency
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects, to enhance productivity and reduce operational waste
+ Plan, design, and implement automation and equipment upgrades to streamline production and increase throughput.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Maintenance, IT, and R&D teams to support new product introduction and process enhancements
+ Develop and implement robust process controls, performance metrics, and documentation systems to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
+ Analyze equipment performance and manufacturing data to identify areas for improvement and corrective action.
+ Build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring appropriate staffing, training, development, and performance management.
+ Define clear departmental goals and KPIs aligned with business objectives; monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
+ Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including GMP standards where necessary.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline is required; MS or PhD in Organic Chemistry or a related field is strongly preferred.
+ Minimum 8–10 years of direct experience in manufacturing operations leading a plant manufacturing floor will be ideal
+ Strong background in oligonucleotide synthesis will be a plus
+ Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement initiatives and scaling manufacturing operations
+ Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a hands-on leadership style.
+ Experience with GMP environments and lean/six sigma methodologies is a plus.

+ Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
+ Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with additional hours as needed
+ Salary: Commensurate with experience (DOE)
+ Team Size: 40–50 direct and indirect reports
