    Job Title: HVAC Specialist

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our team. The HVAC Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The role ensures that climate control systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations, while optimizing energy efficiency through the building automation system. The HVAC Mechanic must maintain regular, reliable attendance and foster harmonious working relationships.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and fume hoods.

    + Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, leaks, and inefficiencies.

    + Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including replacing filters, belts, motors, and other components as needed.

    + Calibrate thermostats, sensors, and control systems to ensure optimal performance.

    + Ensure compliance with EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling and disposal.

    + Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.

    + Follow safety protocols and OSHA guidelines when handling equipment and hazardous materials.

    + Respond promptly to HVAC-related service requests and emergency calls.

    + Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, electricians, and plumbers to ensure seamless facility operations.

    + Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff or apprentices.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

    + Use CMMS/Work Order systems and mobile technology for tracking and reporting.

    Qualifications:

    + Must have Class B license (HVAC Certification)Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.

    + EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants (Type I, II, or Universal).

    + Valid driver’s license.

    + Experience working with a variety of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and fume hoods.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions, leaks, and inefficiencies.

    + Experience performing preventive maintenance and calibrating thermostats and control systems.

    + Familiarity with safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines and EPA refrigerant handling regulations.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    + Basic understanding of CMMS/Work Order systems and mobile technology.

    Benefits:

    + Base Salary $60-70K (DOE)
