Job Title: Senior Incident Coordinator
Primary Location: Reston, VA or Washington, DC
Clearance: Top-Secret (TS) Clearance
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Incident Coordinator to lead the resolution and communication process for critical IT incidents. This role is responsible for managing incident response from detection through final resolution, ensuring stakeholders are informed throughout, and leading post-incident reviews. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills, along with a solid understanding of IT service management practices.
Responsibilities:
• Manage relationships with end users during the entire lifecycle of critical incidents, ensuring timely updates and full resolution.
• Issue critical incident notifications promptly and accurately.
• Monitor the ongoing status of critical incidents and ensure efficient escalation when required.
• Coordinate and lead after-action meetings to assess response effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Establish and lead command posts during high-impact or high-severity incidents.
• Collaborate with technical teams and leadership to restore service operations quickly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate incident records and documentation for compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications:
• Active Top Secret clearance (required).
• 8+ years of experience in IT incident management, operations, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; OR four (4) additional years of relevant field experience in lieu of degree.
• Strong understanding of incident lifecycle and ITIL practices.
• Proven experience in coordinating responses to high-severity, time-sensitive incidents.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Experience with SharePoint for document and workflow management
• Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and reporting
