QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Possess Washington State Limited Energy License.
+ Four years experience as a control technician, refrigeration repair person, or other related experience. Vocational training may substitute on a year-for-year basis for up to two years.
+ Possess or obtain Certification for proper refrigerant Usage and Recovery.
+ Must have satisfactorily completed a factory authorized course in DDC controls relating to setup operation and maintenance of direct digital HVAC control systems.
+ Possess a valid driver’s license.
+ Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record. A condition of employment will be a signed waiver for the District to obtain a personal driving abstract prior to placement and on an annual basis.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
+ Ability to work effectively as a team member and team leader as needed.
+ Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
+ Ability to meet tight time constraints and deadlines including but not limited to varying working hours when necessary.
+ Regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements, goals, and outcomes.
+ Ability to climb ladders and enter steam tunnels.
+ Ability to obtain permitted confined space entry certification.
+ Ability to lift supplies and equipment weighing 1/3 of your body weight up to 50 pounds.
+ Ability to communicate with a variety of people, in person, electronically, in writing, and over the phone or radio.
+ Ability to evaluate and repair various types of equipment and read blueprints.
+ Ability to drive to various district locations.
+ Ability to obtain job related certifications as directed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Treat co-workers, supervisors, students, and patrons with dignity and respect at all times.
+ Serve as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students.
+ Work in a flexible and cooperative manner.
+ Calibrate electrical and pneumatic thermostats; diagnose faults and repair malfunctions in pneumatic systems, electrical control systems and wiring. Must be familiar with DDC control systems.
+ Participate in the design of HVAC systems for new facilities and renovation projects.
+ Carry out tasks such as loading and carrying equipment and supplies; clean up job site after completion of work.
+ Recharge Freon refrigeration and air conditioning systems; check and repair leaks and other malfunctions. Operate refrigerant recycling equipment.
+ Optimize heating and ventilating systems, including adjusting dampers, fabricating duct work, replacing parts, analyzing and correcting CO2 balance, and diagnosing faults and repairing malfunctions.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
+ Remain up-to-date on current HVAC/refrigeration technology by participating in related organizations and/or taking classes.
+ Participate in development of new HVAC/refrigeration systems, also acting as a resource. Install new systems and equipment.
+ Must be able to diagnose and repair motor controls related to HVAC equipment.
+ Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Benefits/Compensation:
Salary range: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service in a similar occupational status from other Washington School Districts or Education School Districts, may receive experience credit towards salary placement.
