Summary:

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the Metabolic Center for Wellness will provide social work services to patients seeking bariatric surgery as well as to individuals struggling with obesity and disordered eating behaviors. Gather clinically relevant information to provide a psychosocial assessment to assist the bariatric care team with pre-surgical clearances. This role will actively collaborate with the healthcare team to develop treatment plans and will provide ongoing counseling for patients throughout the surgical process and beyond as well as individuals not on the surgical path.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

+ Master of Social Work (MSW) from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education

+ Current NYS Licensed Clinical Social Work license (LCSW) required

EXPERIENCE

+ Minimum three (3) years' experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in a hospital, health care, or health related setting

+ Clinical social work practice experience with adolescents, adults and families

+ Experience working with individuals with obesity and disordered eating behaviors

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

+ Excellent interviewing, communication, networking, and advocacy skills

+ Strong Psychological assessments and evaluation skills

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to provide individual, group and family therapy

+ Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, Medicare and provider services, preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:
