ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology and the Sealy Center in Environmental Health and Medicine at the UTMB invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate level, for an independent investigator with training and experience in molecular toxicology or related fields focused on the impact of environmental agents on human disease.
The individual should have experience in the molecular mechanisms in toxicology involving high-priority or emerging environmental exposures associated with adverse human health outcomes. Priority will be given to candidates whose research focuses on the intersection of environmental factors and disease risk, particularly in relation to neurodegenerative diseases, neurodevelopmental disorders, or other chronic conditions such as metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
The ideal candidate will establish a dynamic, extramurally funded and productive research program, engage in teaching and mentoring at the graduate and medical school levels and participate in collaborative interactions with basic and clinical environmental health scientists across UTMB and the Texas Medical Center. Additionally, the ideal candidate will work closely with the leadership and members of the newly restructured Sealy Center for Environmental Health and Medicine.

• Strong research, analytical, critical thinking skills and an ability to synthesize and organize complex datasets

• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop meaningful collaborations
SALARY:
