    Students enter the PTECH High School program as 9th graders and work simultaneously toward earning an Advanced Regents Diploma and an A.A.S. degree from Finger Lakes Community College in Information Technology, Instrumentation and Control Technologies or Mechanical Technology, at no cost to the student's family. The 4–6-year sequence emphasizes individualized pathways to completion, mentorships, work-based experiences, in-depth project-based learning, and real-world experiences. Instructors are expected to: provide specialized instruction to students with emotional and learning disabilities; provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning; record and report student progress; collaborate with colleagues and provide resources to meet student learning needs; communicate regularly and effectively with parents; ability to work with a diverse population of students.

    Job Qualifications

    Candidate must have current NYS certification in Mathematics 7-12. Preference will be given to candidates who is Bilingual and has dual certification in Mathematics 7-12 with experience teaching college Mathematics (Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Advanced Algebra, and Statistics), and/or Special Education.

     

    Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels, including but not limited to: knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments; knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction; ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team; and excellent written and oral communication skills.
