    Description

    The Temp Part-Time Social Work Intern (SWI) is responsible for the delivery of assigned schools’ program activities and direct services at school sites. The SWI may be asked to work in multiple sites. The SWI will support and provide programming in the schools as outlined below.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    Provides the following individual/small group services:

    + Individual and family case management and crisis counseling

    + Individual and small group counseling

    + Referrals for students and families who are indicated by school staff

    + Conducts outreach to students and their families, including regular phone calls, written correspondence, and home visits

    Supports the planning and delivery of the following school-wide services:

    + Weekly classroom Side-by-Side workshops

    + Staff professional development trainings and teacher coaching

    + Parent workshops & other school/community events

    + Facilitation of Advisory and/or ELT classroom lessons and activities

    + Participation in PBIS and other multi-tiered systems of support o Attends school meetings including attendance and SEL team meetings

    + Collects data necessary for Wediko’s internal systems (e.g., attendance, grade reports, outcomes and measurements).

    + Completes all necessary paperwork including weekly lesson plans, group sign-ins, process recordings, and case notes.

    + Attends weekly on-site team meetings with task supervisor, weekly clinical supervision with a SIFI certified field instructor, bi-weekly intern group supervision, and monthly whole staff trainings.

    + May participate in specialized projects (e.g., research, program development, and grant writing).

    + Evening hours required when working in after-school programs

    + Special weekend events or evening hours for parent teacher conferences requested

    Qualifications

    + Advanced degree in mental health/counseling (e.g., MSW, M.S. Ed in Counseling, MFT, etc.)

    + Experience working within or managing programs serving youth and families

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to approach challenges in a supportive and creative manner

    + Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

    + Flexible schedule and willingness to work school hours as well as some weekends/evenings in support of school events

    + Bilingual Spanish a plus
