    Overview

     

    We are seeking aStudent Radiologic Technologist (PRN),internally referred to as our Student Rad Tech at Riverview Regional Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Student Radiologic Technologist, you will learn and gain practical experience in all aspects of radiologic technology working independently of a technologist. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    + Perform Diagnostic Radiographic or other procedures according to department protocols, working independently of a Radiologic Technologist

    + Learn to perform a variety of radiographic examinations, including X-rays and fluoroscopy

    + Understand how to evaluate image quality, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain equipment performance to meet established standards

    + Gain knowledge of how to gauge if X-ray equipment is functioning properly and that images meet quality standards, which may involve performing equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting as needed

    + Interact with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort and safety during X-ray examinations with assistant from a Rad Tech

    + Maintain accurate records of X-ray procedures, including patient information, images, and relevant medical history

    + Encouraged to participate in professional development activities, such as attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, to stay current with advancements in radiologic technology and healthcare practices

    + Operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images, learn proper techniques for radiation protection, shielding, and monitoring to ensure safe and effective imaging procedures

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required

    + Currently attending an accredited health care educational program for radiologic technology

    + Meet state requirements for exemption from licensing to operate x-ray equipment. Documentation of state exemption required in personnel file

    + Completion of their first year curriculum requirements

    + Current BCLS (AHA)

    + At least one year of clinical experience in the radiology technologist program required

    + Proficient computer skills
