Safety-Kleen in **Elgin, IL** is seeking a **Supervisor of Material Handling** to oversee and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in material handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Responsibilities include ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within a warehouse or distribution center, managing inventory levels, and implementing process improvements to optimize workflow. The Supervisor Material Handling also provides leadership and guidance to a team and enforces safety regulations.

+ Oversee and monitor work activities of Material Handlers and Lead Material Handler
+ Provide training to new employees
+ Lead projects and improvements at worksite; identifying or prioritizing warehouse projects such as re-organizing product aisles or identifying and implementing efficiency improvements as needed.
+ Unload route truck waste in evening and reconcile waste; Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day’s runs
+ Manage inventory order and receiving process
+ Stock warehouse with materials after DC truck arrival
+ Daily facility Inspection: Ensuring that someone is assigned to completing the daily facility inspections that are required and that they are completed on time per regulatory requirements
+ Empty and fill drums of solvent mineral spirits
+ Perform minor repairs on parts washers at warehouse
+ Supervise 3rd party bulk liquids transfers
+ Supervise warehouse personnel
+ Unload containerized waste from the route trucks
+ Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day’s runs
+ Ensures all waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition and organized for transport to recycle or distribution centers
+ Stock the warehouse with received materials
+ Prepare waste loads for shipment
+ Housekeeping in the branch (painting, picking up trash, sweeping, cleaning, straightening)
+ Empty and fill drums of solvent mineral spirits
+ Perform minor repairs on parts washers at the warehouse
+ Supervise third party bulk liquid transfers
+ Order inventory and assist with inventory count at warehouse
+ Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
+ Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
+ Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
+ Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
+ Perform other duties as assigned

+ Work with minimal supervision at times
+ Forklift driving skills
+ Basic computer skills
+ Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
+ Perform physical functions per job requirements
+ Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
Preferred
+ Advanced computer skills with applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
+ Previous supervisory experience
+ Previous experience with hazardous materials
